SPORTS DAY &
THE ATHLETICS SEASON
Sports Day was a fabulous event again in 2019, building on the addition of more sports from 2018, mixed netball and rounders were new to the 2019 programme.
The full programme of track and field athletics, alternative track and field events and the team sports meant that pupil were actively engaged in much of the day. The tug o’ war competition proved to be a very popular event once again with Latter taking the win.
Pupils are encouraged to give their all on Sports Day and this year saw the introduction of the “Spirit of Sports Day” award, where those who really engaged in the day and supported their house were recognised.
We had over 20 nominations from staff for this award, with the final 4 winners being named as:
Other awards given on the day were:
Middle School Athlete: Jointly awarded to Fola Odofin and Rufus Gilbert
Upper School Athlete: Jointly awarded to Lewis Bevan and Charlotte Despard
Relay Cup: Grant
Middle School Cup Winners: Barton
Upper School Cup winners: Latter
Overall winners: Grant
It was a fantastic day with a real buzz around the activities. Many thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to make the day a success.
