Pupils in Reception and the Nursery have spent time this term learning about different cultures from all around the world.
From India to Peru, via Italy and Uganda, children in Nursery and Reception learned about many different parts of the world during their Multicultural Week.
At the beginning of the week there was great excitement as they made their passports ready for their travels. They had their photographs taken for their passports with Amal exclaiming, “you are not allowed to smile in your picture for your passport!”
The pupils discovered new facts about the clothes, food, houses and activities that children do in many different countries and undertook activities linked to all the areas of learning.
Some of the events during the week included making a Leaning Tower of Pisa Peruvian weaving, Bollywood dancing, cooking pizza and making Lassi. They also had a visit from Dr Boyd, a parent of one of the children in Reception, who talked to the children about her time in South Africa and the kind of foods they eat.
At the end of the week, everyone met to showcase their learning and enjoy their delicious snacks.
