The Gala Concert

In the warmth of the Memorial Library each pupil that excelled in the last academic year was able to be congratulated by Dr Cotton as they took part in this year’s Prizegiving event.

The tables in the library almost groaned under the weight of a vast array of books chosen by the pupils as the reward for their efforts and the cups and medals sparkled in the autumn sunshine as Ms Hardisty and her team of Gappers ensured a seamless event.

Each pupil that came in had their photograph taken with Dr Cotton to record the event and these were then incorporated into the Prizegiving film. The film included a superb Strings performance of Corelli Concerto Grosso in D Major op 6 no 4 Adagio & Allegro along with a review of the academic year by Dr Cotton and a short speech from Chair of Governors, Mr Walter Cha. It was also wonderful to hear from OP Mike Wedderburn as our Guest of Honour who spoke poignantly about the importance of kindness and understanding.
