Over two days each year there is artistic inspiration across the Junior School as they take one piece of art and embark on a number of different activities inspired by the image.

This year the art inspiration was provided by ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ by Katsushika Hokusai.

Activities across the school included a beach scene in a bottle, Japanese writing, origami, drama workshops, haiku poems, oil pastel drawing, ink drawing, 3D paper collage, computer-generated art and much more.

“Take One Picture is always popular and the activity around the Junior School is incredible,” said Mr Jason Ashcroft. “Our children always find inspiration in what they do and having the license to let their imaginations be sparked in different ways always produces incredible results. This has been demonstrated this year through the variety of interpretations drawn from this single piece of art.”
